would this be better if you put this on google doc, grateful for the effort your putting in to collecting the candidates, it could be useful for non-commercial reuse via .csv as http://opendata.ie/ people could add a few more bits of information could be added incumbency? cllr senator, and town.

It would be helpful if you could provide an email address so that candidates declaring can be notified to you. Parties and candidates could then contact you directly and give you the details.

May I suggest an addition to your categories? To gender and age (“young candidates”) you might add income? Here’s a reason for doing so: http://colummccaffery.wordpress.com/2009/11/16/a-speakers-income-as-political-information/

    Hi Adrian
I am running in the Stillorgan area – representing Cabinteely, Clonskeagh, Cornelscourt,Foxrock, Goatstown, Kilmacud, Mount Merrion and Stillorgan. I am an Independent candidate and have no connection with any political party. It is my first time running for election.

Hi Adrian was wondering if the referendums in Ireland were ever broken down and analysed by age such as 18-35, it would be interesting to see what the percentages look like when analysing peoples age and voting choice. This would possibly be interesting to know about the many abortion referendums, divorce and marriage equality.

    • No. Official figures only give overall totals, or constituency breakdowns, in terms of voting preference and voter turnout levels. Some opinion polls carried out in advances of (some of) these referendum elections may provide you with information/estimates on this however
